Burçak Kurt Biçer
Burçak is the managing partner of Biçer Güner. She was admitted to Istanbul Bar in February 2006, after obtaining her LL.B degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law in June 2004. Burcak has more than 18 years of experience primarily in corporate/M&A, employment and TMT, as well as banking-finance, dispute resolution, real estate and data protection.
On the corporate/M&A side, she advises foreign and Turkish sellers, strategic investors and private equities in their M&A transactions in all sectors. She regularly advises major international and Turkish clients on their day-to-day corporate and business issues, including legal mergers, spin-offs, internal corporate restructuring and corporate governance. She also has extensive experience in Competition Board filings for M&A transactions as well as exemption and negative clearance applications.
On TMT, she has been regularly advising major global media clients on the Turkish law aspects of their businesses in Turkey and represents them before the Radio and Television Supreme Council. She also advices them on the structuring of their business in compliance with Turkish laws.
On the employment side, she regularly advises major international and Turkish clients on all aspects of employment law issues, including mass lay-offs, transfer of employees, employment issues related to local and/or cross border M&A transactions, sub-employer/outsourcing arrangements, breaches and claims related to restrictive covenants, preparation of employment agreements, internal guidelines and benefit plans, preparation and negotiation of settlement agreements, internal investigations due to suspected white collar crime.
She is also specialized in banking-finance with a focus on syndicated loans, project-finance and trade finance. Burçak also provides services to her clients in all aspects of data protection and real estate.
